I wanted to avoid at all costs categories with only one NPC since that doesn't seem helpful at all, so I've made a couple of decisions that might be controversial: Another thing to keep in mind is that the amount of NPCs that are better at their role than a CHARNAME could be is lower than in BG1 (in fact I can only think of two - Edwin and Viconia), which had several instances of illegal stats (so does BG2 actually but they aren't nearly as important).Ī major disclaimer: The lower amount of NPCs means categorizing them in a logical way has been a little tricky.
Most notably, Strength is no longer anywhere near as important, due to the massive amounts of STR boosting items available. Second, some of the criteria has changed since BG1. I considered doing it on a bell curve but that seemed like it could be misleading. First, IMHO the NPCs are a lot more well rounded this time around, with only one sticking out as being particularly bad, so we're going to see a lot less diversity in terms of grades.
Things are going to look a bit different this time around.
